Minister for Jobs and Tourism Steve Kamper said: "Sydney's spring season showcases everything that makes our city extraordinary. Whether you're watching the sunrise from a hot air balloon over South West Sydney, strolling jacaranda-lined streets, or savouring dinner under the stars at a rooftop restaurant before a show, Sydney offers magical experiences from dawn to dusk."

“We encourage visitors and locals to visit Sydney during springtime when international events, cultural celebrations and natural wonders spring to life. Whether you’re a visitor or a local, spring is an incredible time to experience Sydney.”

Spring's Natural Spectacular

Spring transforms Sydney into a natural wonderland, with the city's famous Jacaranda blooms creating purple canopies across suburbs and the Cherry Blossom Festival painting Auburn Botanic Gardens in delicate pink hues. For wildflower enthusiasts, the Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden is set across 123 hectares of pristine untouched bushland, offering extraordinary spring displays.

The season's comfortable temperatures create ideal conditions for outdoor adventures, from coastal walks along golden beaches to discovering the paper daisies at the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan. The Middle Head to Georges Head walking track provides spectacular harbour views while whale watching cruises with Sydney Princess Cruises offer final glimpses of migrating whales heading south for summer.

Sustainable Tourism Experiences

Sydney's commitment to sustainable tourism shines through world-class sustainably certified accommodations including the Wildlife Retreat at Taronga, The Langham and Capella Sydney. These properties demonstrate that luxury and responsible practices can go hand in hand.

The city's farm-to-table dining scene reaches new heights with restaurants like Sinclair’s in Western Sydney, The Blue Door, award-winning BTWN (winner of 2025 NSW Sommelier's Wine List of the Year), Garaku’s thoughtful seasonal menus and vegan restaurant Yulis Surry Hills.

Sydney from Every Angle

Sydney's diverse landscape offers unique perspectives from every angle. Scenic flights with Sydney Seaplanes provide breathtaking aerial views, while hot air balloon rides with Balloon Aloft Camden offer magical sunrise experiences complete with a champagne breakfast. On the water, dinner cruises with Journey Beyond, golden-hour sunsets with Kayaking Sydney and intimate sailing experiences with Manly Sailing showcase the harbour's beauty.

For those seeking adventure beyond the city, the Hawkesbury River beckons with the charming Riverboat Postman day trips, luxury houseboat experiences, and jet ski safaris, while the historic Nepean Belle Paddlewheeler offers old-world charm at the foothills of the Blue Mountains.

Authentic Aboriginal Experiences

Sydney's rich Aboriginal heritage comes alive through authentic cultural experiences. Dreamtime Southern X and Tribal Warrior Cultural Cruise offer harbour-based cultural tours, while the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney's bushtucker tours provide insights into traditional plant use. The Yolŋu power: the art of Yirrkala exhibition at the Art Gallery of New South Wales showcases contemporary Aboriginal culture to the city's cultural landscape.

A Feast for All Seasons

Spring brings seasonal menus and fresh produce to Sydney's renowned dining scene. NSW Wine Month in November, featuring cellar door experiences, celebrates the region's viticultural excellence. Food lovers can dive headfirst into Australian seasonal seafood scene on a Taste of Sydney Fish Market Tours, hands-on cooking class at Sydney Seafood School, and festivals including the Cabramatta Moon Festival and St Ives Food and Wine Festival.

Sydney Beer Week (20 – 26 October) returns with events spanning the entire city and showcases the best of Sydney's craft beer scene alongside behind-the-scenes experiences.  Throughout spring, explore the brewery trails winding through the Inner West and Northern Beaches at leisure, or discover artisan distilleries like Red Mill Rum and innovative non-alcoholic producer Seadrift Distillery for distinctive tasting experiences.
