Bali Zoo proudly announces the launch of Jungle Encounter, a new signature program offering guests a truly get-up-close-and-personal wildlife experience in Bali. Officially opening on 15 December 2025, the program further strengthens Bali Zoo's position as a must-visit family destination known for exceptional interactive wildlife experiences. Held daily at the Tamaki Gate area inside Bali Zoo, Jungle Encounter takes place in a specially designed space inspired by one of New Zealand's indigenous tribes. The area features artistic elements with distinctive Māori motifs, creating an immersive thematic setting that enhances the guest experience from the moment they arrive. Jungle Encounter invites guests to engage directly with a curated selection of exotic animals through two daily sessions:10.00 – 11.30 AM & 1.00 – 2.30 PM.
The experience includes intimate introductions to raccoons, fennec foxes, skunks, binturongs, and a variety of reptiles such as corn snakes, pythons, blue-tongue skinks, and iguanas. Guided by Bali Zoo's trained keeper team, each encounter allows guests to connect closely with the animals while learning about their unique behaviours and ecological roles. Beyond animal interactions, the Jungle Encounter area also features a dedicated children's play zone. Young visitors can explore hands-on activities as junior archaeologists, including a dinosaur fossil excavation feature that encourages creativity, discovery, and educational fun throughout their zoo visit.
The Jungle Encounter program is free for all Bali Zoo visitors, offering inclusive access to this wildlife showcase. For guests seeking a more exclusive experience, premium Get Up Close and Personal interactions with the raccoon, fennec fox, or skunk are available for IDR 75,000 per person. These enhanced encounters provide deeper engagement while supporting Bali Zoo's ongoing animal care and enrichment initiatives.
“Jungle Encounter is designed to elevate the guest experience by giving visitors the opportunity to truly get up close and personal with some of our most charismatic species,” said Emma Chandra, Head of Public Relations at Bali Zoo. "With the addition of the Māori-inspired environment and children's discovery zone, we aim to create a space that is both educational and memorable for guests of all ages.”
Jungle Encounter is set to become one of Bali Zoo's most engaging new attractions, offering a unique blend of wildlife interaction, cultural inspiration, and family-friendly experiences.
