IMM Sydney, 2026: Travel is evolving – and so are the expectations of modern travellers. Leading leisure travel company Travel + Leisure Co. is expanding its Asia Pacific footprint, as travellers increasingly recognise the value and flexibility of shared ownership in travel.
2025 marked one of the company's strongest periods of growth, as the appetite for shared ownership continues to increase – especially amongst Millennials and Gen Z travellers.
“Our model is experiencing renewed momentum as consumer behaviour shifts toward a lifestyle model with a preference for access over ownership. From rideshare to co-working spaces and now to holidays, the concept of shared ownership has evolved to give travellers unprecedented choice, value and access to high-quality destinations and memorable experiences, without the commitments of traditional ownership,” said Barry Robinson, Managing Director of International Operations at Travel + Leisure Co.
The business is responding to this consumer evolution with significant expansion, now overseeing more than 100 properties, many of which are accessible to both club members and the general public through an innovative mixed-use model.
The company's unique approach combines shared ownership through its vacation clubs with traditional hotel inventory and branded residences – creating a hybrid hospitality model aligned with the way today's consumers prefer to travel. Travellers enjoy holidays as 'owners' of multiple destinations without the constraints of a mortgage, ongoing upkeep, or returning to the same locations year after year.
Strategic expansion across the region's most coveted destinations
Continued investment in Asia Pacific by Travel + Leisure Co. has been underscored by significant acquisitions and strategic initiatives over the past year, including:
- Club Wyndham Bellinzona Hepburn Springs, Daylesford – positioned in one of Victoria's most sought-after wellness and gourmet destinations
- Club Wyndham Mission Beach – offering tropical beachfront luxury on Queensland's pristine coastline
- Investment in 11 established vacation ownership properties across Australia and New Zealand
- Launch of Accor Vacation Club Asia Pacific in Indonesia – representing a significant evolution in shared ownership, offering a shorter-term structure where members may receive a share of proceeds from property sales.
These additions complement the company's existing portfolio and reinforce its position as the leading shared ownership operator in the region's travel industry.
Lifestyle Program maximising value beyond property access
Recognising that modern travellers seek more than accommodation alone, Travel + Leisure Co. has developed Lifestyle, a comprehensive member benefits platform designed to transform shared ownership into a global travel solution.
Lifestyle membership enables vacation ownership members to:
Exchange owner credits or member points for stays at thousands of vacation ownership resorts worldwide
- Convert credits or points for use in major hotel loyalty programs, including Wyndham Rewards and Accor Live Limitless
- Access curated travel packages and bespoke itineraries including flights, accommodation and car hire
- Unlock exclusive offers and discounts from trusted retail, dining and entertainment partners
"Lifestyle enhances the value of shared ownership by broadening it from accommodation into the realm of true lifestyle enhancement," Robinson added. "Our members are not simply accessing a single property; they are joining a club platform that enriches their entire approach to leisure, travel and life experiences."
Sustainable growth
Travel + Leisure Co. currently develops and operates four distinct vacation clubs across Asia Pacific: Club Wyndham South Pacific; Club Wyndham Asia; Accor Vacation Club; and Accor Vacation Club Asia Pacific (recently launched).
Together, these clubs serve more than 100,000 owners and members, providing access to properties ranging from beachfront resorts and mountain retreats to boutique city accommodations and tropical island escapes. Travel + Leisure Co. oversees 65 properties across Australia and New Zealand.
With consumer preferences continuing to shift toward access-based consumption, flexible travel options, and experiences over possessions, Travel + Leisure Co. is positioned for continued growth in the Asia Pacific market and beyond.
Robinson stated, “We are focused on a disciplined, long-term strategy. Our plans include ongoing investment in popular high-demand leisure destinations, expanding our Lifestyle program by adding new partners, and evolving our ownership models to keep up with travellers' changing needs and expectations. The future of travel will be shaped by brands that offer flexibility, earn trust, and deliver lasting value, and we are confident in our ability to help shape this future.”
