On February 11, 2026, Tobu Real Estate Co., Ltd., part of the Tobu Group, opened T-home Kei, a new Edo-inspired hotel in Oshiage, Sumida Ward, near the iconic Tokyo Skytree.

T-home Kei is part of the T-home series of accommodation facilities developed under the “Kotomachi Project,” by Tobu Real Estate Co., Ltd. The project aims to attract visitors to the Tokyo Skytree Town area by encouraging interaction with the local community and providing opportunities for cultural experiences, ultimately revitalising the surrounding neighbourhood.

Designed for Community Connection and Visiting Travellers

Community-oriented spaces such as “Kotomachi Terrace” have been developed to welcome visitors from both Japan and abroad, while several food establishments in the area further enhance the appeal of Oshiage.

All T-home properties are located within a five-minute walk of either Oshiage Station (Tokyo Skytree) or Tokyo Skytree Station. From Oshiage Station, travellers can reach both Haneda Airport and Narita Airport without transfers, while Asakusa Station is just two stops away (approximately three minutes).

An Alternative to Tokyo's Conventional Hotel Experience

The name “T-home Kei” reflects the concept of creating a welcoming atmosphere within the town. Built on the site of a former hospital, the property was designed with international travellers in mind, particularly large groups seeking a more immersive cultural experience and an alternative to Tokyo's typical high-rise hotel accommodations.

T-home Kei is a two-storey wooden structure inspired by traditional Edo-period nagaya townhouses, with interiors incorporating classic Japanese design elements.

Homely Accommodation and Amenities for Groups

The largest property in the series, T-home Kei offers 29 guest rooms accommodating between four and ten guests, making it ideal for families and larger groups. Each stylish room includes a fully equipped kitchen with cookware and utensils, as well as a washing machine, creating a comfortable home-away-from-home experience.

A self-service check-in and check-out system allows guests to complete procedures using multilingual guidance boards available in English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean.

Unique food and beverage establishments are also planned to open within the property in the near future. Open spaces on the premises will host seasonal events, allowing visitors to experience the beauty of Japan's changing seasons.

Increasing Appeal Among International Visitors

The T-home properties have already gained popularity among international travellers, earning consistently positive reviews. The brand is pursuing expansion, with plans to reach 100 rooms and two additional buildings already in development.
