Best Western’s global hotel loyalty program, Best Western Rewards is giving guests more reasons to travel with its new “Status Match… No Catch®” loyalty upgrade introduced this month for members staying at the group’s Australia, New Zealand and Fiji hotels.
As part of Best Western Australasia’s Status Match… No Catch program, guests who hold an elite status with another hotel loyalty program can now upgrade their Best Western Rewards status to the equivalent tier. Guests can apply for this upgrade on check-in at their hotel or by completing an online form at www.bestwestern.com.au
Steve Richards, Best Western Australasia General Manager Sales and Marketing said Status Match… No Catch now gives guests more reasons to stay with Best Western’s 4,200 hotels worldwide, especially if they hold an elite status with another hotel loyalty program.
“Loyalty programs are a big reason people keep returning to certain hotels, to earn more loyalty points and receive special deals, discounted items and free room nights,” Mr Richards said.
“Our new status match program allows our existing Best Western Rewards members who have attained a higher tier with another hotel loyalty program, to now be promoted to the equivalent elite status for their Best Western Rewards account.
“When a guest who is not a Best Western Rewards member walks into a hotel, we can sign them up to our loyalty program for free and upgrade their membership tier to match another hotel program’s elite status,” he said.
Guests who want to claim a higher tier on check-in should show Best Western staff their current card or statement from another hotel loyalty program to verify their status.
Best Western Rewards has three loyalty tiers:
- Gold (Stay 0-14 nights per year and earn 10 points per US$1 spent)
- Platinum (Stay 15-29 nights per year and earn 11 points per US$1 spent)
- Diamond (Stay 30+ nights per year and earn 11.5 points per US$1 spent)

About Best Western Rewards®
Best Western Rewards is Best Western’s global hotel loyalty program. It includes three tiers determined by the account type or the number of nights spent at any participating Best Western property. New Best Western Rewards members are automatically enrolled into the Gold tier. Platinum members can earn 10 per cent bonus points and diamond tier members earn 15 per cent bonus points each time they swipe their Best Western Rewards card at any Best Western hotel worldwide.
To progress to higher tiers or to maintain an elite status tier, the minimum number of room nights must be achieved each calendar year. Earning points is simply a matter of presenting your card each time you stay at any Best Western hotel worldwide. Points are valid for a minimum of 12 months but will expire if there has been no activity. Qualifying points may be redeemed for free room nights or products from a catalogue of redemption items.
