Check-in and Be Rewarded: Best Western Looks to Recognise Elite Loyalty Members

BWH Hotels

Elite Best Western Rewards cardholders can now choose either a free bottle of water or 250 bonus rewards points on check-in at any BEST WESTERN, BEST WESTERN PLUS or BEST WESTERN PREMIER hotel in Australia, New Zealand or Fiji.

In an effort to strengthen its hotel loyalty program, Best Western chose its latest recognition items on the back of market research and conversations with its Diamond and Platinum Best Western Rewards cardholders, who rated how they would prefer to be recognised as frequent guests.

Steve Richards, Best Western Australasia General Manager Sales and Marketing said guests see recognition and appreciation equally as important as collecting and redeeming loyalty program points.

“We want to reward our most loyal guests and believe water bottles or bonus points serve as practical ‘welcome back’ gifts for our elite cardholders,” he said.

Richards said business travellers in particular often stay with one preferred hotel group, with loyalty programs being a big reason they choose to return to select hotels.

“It’s a two-way relationship,” Richards said. “Our loyal Best Western Rewards guests spend more, stay longer and are more inclined to recommend our hotels to colleagues and friends. With this in mind, we have developed a new strategy to grow our loyalty program and provide these guests with better value, service and recognition.”

As part of Best Western’s Status Match…No Catch® program launched in October 2013, guests who hold an elite status with another hotel loyalty program can join or upgrade their Best Western Rewards status to the equivalent status tier. Guests can apply for this upgrade on check-in at their hotel or by completing an online form at www.bestwestern.com.au.
